First Theory of Michellativity

Yes, there are many such theories (!) so I shall start with the first:

The Self-Winding Watch Theory of Michellativity.

Indeed!

I contend that the more I do that is authentic and joyful, the more those very activities “wind my watch” to let me handle the rest of my “must do’s” – and tonight feels like proof of that. After going from Marina del Rey to Burbank to Manhattan Beach and now home, I am still jazzed after a 13 hour day.

Interested?!

Every day that I do joyful things like exercise, meditate, make love, work on things that I enjoy (Hello?! It's called "Joyride", not "Big Bummer"), cat nap, realize I make a difference, sip wine, obsess over Joying It On, etc., THAT TIME SPENT CONNECTED TO MY PASSION is what "winds my watch" and allows me to easily sustain my 307,902.5 hours of challenging work in a joyful way.

Don't talk to me about busy! I am the Queen of that category: I routinely Joyride With Many Hats. Today, among other things, I arranged for professional liability insurance, paid bills, wrote a proposal to a big consulting client, facilitated a big meeting, helped my fab assistant Vi edit a video, wrote and recorded the voiceover, fielded calls from vendors about web optimization, ate every three hours, drove all over town, and placed over 20 phone calls. Bring it on! The uber-rigor of juggling all of this does NOT mess with my Skippy a la mode.

And it doesn't have to mess with yours either. If you are teetering on overwhelm, take five to do something you love. It can be as simple as daydreaming about your idyllic getaway. Stuck in traffic hell? Before you lay on the horn and cuss, conjure up 3 things you are grateful for RIGHT THEN: gas in the tank, no flat tire, cell phone is charging.

If your watch feels like no-tickie, or the battery is flat-outta juice, do some self-winding!
